TIPS for what to do the day before test day

Hi everyone! I know you have seen a lot of posts about study tips and tips for test day. So, I am sharing some tips on what I do THE DAY BEFORE a board exam because I’m #procrastinating  (definitely something you shouldn’t do 😂)

1. Sleep: make sure you get plenty of zzzzs the week of your exam (especially the night before). These exams are all about endurance as much as knowledge, so make sure you are well rested!

2. Stay hydrated: All of those espressos and energy drinks are not helping you stay hydrated … so drink water! And it doesn’t hurt to eat something healthy either… pack a healthy lunch for test day. If you are used to drinking a ton of caffeine, make sure to pack some. Does anyone else fall into a post-lunch coma !?

3. Review pertinent material: As I was studying, I made a list of brief topics to review the day before the exam (high yield things I knew I had to look at one more time for them to stick). For the DOs, definitely refresh on Chapman’s points and OMM (it’s easy points on test day!)

4. De- stress: I went to a Soulcycle spin class with a friend the day before my Step 3 exam. It’s a good way to help get rid of your nerves. I also like to take the night off before the exam so I feel less burnt out when I start the test.

5. Prep: lay out your clothes and pack your lunch/ snacks the night before. Don’t forget your license or passport!

6. Set your alarm (or a few!) early enough so that you aren’t rushing in the morning. I like to get to the testing center at least 45 min before my test time. They normally let you start your test early and they take you in based on the order you arrive in.
Good luck everyone! Feel free to comment below with any questions that you may have !

XO,

G
