How I Studied For COMLEX Exams

I’ve had a ton of questions about what resources to use for medical school board studying, so I’m posting some of the ones that I found helpful.

1. Questions, questions, & more questions. From my experience and that of many of my peers, question banks seem to be the most helpful resource for preparing for test day. The more that you can do, the better! I downloaded the UWorld app on my phone and iPad, so could easily access questions if I wasn’t at home.

2. Books: For Step 1, I used First Aid for USMLE. It’s really helpful to write down notes from your classes during first and second year in this book, so when you go to study for the boards, your book is complete! For Step 2 and 3, I found that I liked the layout of Master the Boards better.

3. Other resources: I liked Pathoma and Sketchy medical (they only had sketchy micro when I was studying) for step 1. For Step 2, I really only did questions and referred back to my book when needed. For the DOs, Savarese is good for OMM.

It can be overwhelming having so many options, so the most important thing is to find resources that work for you and stick with them!
Hope that you guys found this helpful!
